God's love

A few years ago, our family borrowed some ingredients on a Sunday from our next-door neighbor for some cookies. My young son Taft went over to pick them up. When Taft returned home he was half smiling, half laughing. As Taft said goodbye to the neighbor after receiving the supplies, he said without thinking, “thanks, love you.” He came home a little embarrassed. He shared with us what had happened next door. A few minutes after Taft returned, I received a text from my neighbor Steve. Steve said, “Tell Taft I love him too”. Amidst the humor was an overriding exchange of love.
We are often bashful about telling God we love Him. I testify He is quick to tell us, show us, and demonstrate His love through His presence, His spirit, His attention to our lives, and His blessings. Elder Uchtdorff said of God, “He loves us because He is filled with an infinite measure of holy, pure, and indescribable love. We are important to God not because of our résumé but because we are His children. He loves every one of us, even those who are flawed, rejected, awkward, sorrowful, or broken. God’s love is so great that He loves even the proud, the selfish, the arrogant, and the wicked.”
