Absolute deliverance

faith religious spiritual Mar 01, 2022

I will call this “the King Mosiah doctrine.” This powerful doctrine has completely changed my approach, my mindset and my life. It is not really Mosiah’s doctrine, but he taught it so powerfully. It is yet another wonderful principle and doctrine of Jesus Christ.

It is a principle of liberation and freedom. It is a principle of hope. It is a principle of endless opportunity and deliverance. It was Mosiah who explained this principle so clearly and powerfully to his people. The doctrine simply is yet another “Greater View” found in the pages of the Book of Mormon. This is not the world’s view, but it is God’s view and God’s doctrine. It is a plain and precious doctrine that reminds us that with God, nothing is impossible.

Here is the doctrine: “But behold, [God] did deliver them because they did humble themselves before him; and because they cried mightily unto him he did deliver them out of bondage; and thus doth the Lord work with his power in all cases among the children of men, extending the arm of mercy towards them that put their trust in him” (Mosiah 29:20, emphasis added).

The Lord delivers His people in all cases if we will be humble and trust in Him. There is still no promise that the deliverance is within hours or days, but there is an absolute promise of deliverance through the arm of mercy which can occur because of the Atonement and power of Jesus Christ.
