All In

spiritual Sep 01, 2020

As a missionary, my companion and I taught a lady who was filled with faith, her name was Faye. She was one of those golden contacts, who had been prepared for the gospel for a long time. We were teaching Faye the lesson on the plan of salvation one day and—as always—she embraced and loved every principle. She listened intently and receptively received the spirit of the message. Near the end of the lesson, we informed Faye there were three kingdoms of glory in the eternities as outlined in the New Testament and in the Doctrine and Covenants.

We informed Faye about the celestial kingdom or kingdom of God, and we discussed it for a time. She excitedly listened intently to our words and phrases describing the celestial kingdom. We then attempted to move through our drawing which showed the other degrees of glory or lesser kingdoms where God would not be. She stopped us, and said I don’t want to know about the other degrees of glory. We told her we didn’t understand. She said, “for me, it is the kingdom of God or nothing.” Here was a lady I would never have to worry about. She was all in. Her desires were pure and were to follow God at all costs and at any sacrifice. She, like Nephi, delighted in Christ.
