Desire and Preparation

Jul 07, 2020

I remember one evening my six-year-old daughter Holland was dressed for soccer practice. She was prepared for practice, ready to play, and excited. She was not very skilled at playing soccer yet, but she had spent some time playing with her brothers in the backyard on many occasions.

She had also picked up some phrases and words from spending hours with her brothers. She was excited and had her ball under her arm and was ready to jump in the car when she said, “Dad, a lot of people are probably gonna get wrecked by me.” She had a desire to play, she was ready to play, and her brothers had obviously inspired in her some desires that her dad did not appreciate.
