Hand of God

My dear friend, Ronnie, shared this “hand of God” experience with me: When Ronnie was in the military, his platoon was going to a shooting range one day to qualify with their weapons. The range was set up so the men lined up facing a mountain and shot into the mountain’s base. The military men were all shooting their M-16 rifles when, suddenly, Ronnie was hit in the chest. He said he immediately knew he was a goner. He had been hit by a ricocheting bullet right in the chest, and the bullet hit him with such force it knocked him to the ground on his back.
From the ground, the next thing Ronnie did was look down at his chest where he had been hit to see the size of the wound and how much blood was flowing. Amazingly, when Ronnie looked down, he did not see blood or a large flesh wound, but what he did see was a dented medallion.
Two weeks earlier his wife had sent him a necklace, with a medallion the size of a fifty-cent piece on it. The bullet had literally hit the center of the medallion. The medallion was damaged, but Ronnie was not. While the medallion did stop the bullet, Ronnie knew it was not the medallion, but it was God who, through a series of events and occurrences, had saved Ronnie.
