Hope

I was teaching Sunday School a few years ago and I asked this question, “If you could put your own name on the plan of salvation, what would you call it? I was excited about the question as I felt it made people think. There were some powerful responses. There was one insightful response that I will never forget. One sister raised her hand and said, “The Plan of Hope!” The Spirit confirmed to me the truthfulness of her thought.
Paul tells us in the New Testament to “plow in hope” (1 Corinthians 9:10). I love the imagery of this admonition. I can see a farmer in a dirt field laboring and plowing with the future completely in mind. This good farmer knows that if he does his part, he will in time see the miracle of God in the field. The plan of God is so much the same, if we will plow righteousness and hope for the best, God will deliver on our hopes through faith. Feel the hope of the season as we have celebrated the birth of our Savior. He is the ultimate symbol of hope for us all.
