Mission Impressions

Dec 08, 2019

A day or two before my son Tyler was leaving on his mission, I had an impression to take him to visit another recently returned missionary. This missionary’s name was Chase. Chase had returned a few days earlier from Mexico. Tyler was going to a Spanish speaking mission as well, and I knew it would be a blessing for Tyler to spend some time with Chase discussing missions. We acted on the prompting and went to Chase’s home. Chase, only home a few days, was filled with light; he had a radiating countenance. Chase stood with power as he testified how life changing his mission had been. Tyler and I only spent a precious hour listening and talking to Chase. This hour was pivotal for Tyler as he felt Chase’s immense spirit.

When we left Chase’s home, Tyler turned to me and said: “Dad that is the kind of missionary I want to be. I want to be a missionary like Chase.” In one hour, Chase inspired my son to love and serve faithfully and be a powerful missionary. It was one of the most critical visits we could have made for young, aspiring Tyler who wanted to serve a powerful mission.
