Particleboard Parable

spiritual Aug 27, 2020

Let me conclude this section with the parable of the particleboard. When boards are cut from all types of trees and after wood planks are shaped and honed, there are remnants— shavings, wood chips and sawdust. These remnants for many could be considered as waste or garbage. For many years these remnants had little or no use. They were always useful though. Eventually, in Germany particleboard was invented, which has become extremely useful.

Currently, to make particleboard these different remnants of wood are taken and compressed with resin and made into a board or piece of wood. These boards are made at different strengths according to the resins and chips they use. These particleboards are now used by the thousands for a multitude of different purposes. Particleboard has become a product made from something that seemed small and insignificant and considered to be almost as refuse.

Our loving Father in Heaven is a particleboard maker. He takes particles of faith, small amounts of desires and flecks of hope and He builds with them. He takes these bits of desires and He magnifies and multiplies them. He then masterfully adds His resin to these particles and creates something, which seems to come from something otherwise discarded. From a bucket of chips, sawdust and shavings, God remarkably creates something now of great value and use. This is all done with simple desires and particles that may seem small and insignificant. With the completed wood slats, sheets or planks, God now builds a powerful existence and eternal opportunity for His children. These boards built by faith are crafted by the miracle of God and are then used as the literal building blocks for lives of faith.
