Path of conversion
Sep 21, 2021
During an extremely wicked period of time in the Book of Mormon, Mormon reminded us that despite limited hearts being touched, it was still the spirit that was the converter. “And it came to pass that the thirty and first year did pass away, and there were but few who were converted unto the Lord; but as many as were converted did truly signify unto the people that they had been visited by the power and Spirit of God, which was in Jesus Christ, in whom they believed” (3 Nephi 7:21).
This still small voice that converted a small amount of people made a huge difference just a short time later as Christ appeared to the faithful people in a resurrected state at the temple.
“There have been some miraculous conversions recorded in the scriptures … On occasion individuals can have such experiences, but for the most part, conversion happens over a period of time as study, prayer, experience, and faith help us to grow in our testimony and conversion” (Robert D. Hales, "When Thou Art Converted, Strengthen Thy Brethren,” April 1997 General Conference).
