Precious people

In our last house we had a stone shower in the master bedroom. If you walked into the shower you would run into a wall, you had to walk in and then turn a corner, and the shower was set back in the corner. I tell you all of this because one day as I was concluding my shower, I was preparing to exit when I read on the shower door in steam “Hi, Dad.” My seven-year-old daughter Holland had apparently written the note on the door while I was showering.
The most precious people in our lives— our spouses, our children, our immediate family, our dearest friends— should be our most prized possessions. Like my daughter, they are the ones that are closet to us and in our innermost circles. These are the people God has asked us to remember, love, serve, cherish, and strengthen. With all the distractions and commotion of life, it happens that we often neglect and forget the most important people in life. We must treasure these relationships.
