Strength of the Spirit

Many years ago, I lost some money in our house so my family and I began searching for the lost funds. I offered a reward to my sons if they found the money. After searching for a short time, my young son Tanner said, “I know what to do.” He knelt down on the back patio and prayed and then he got up and began searching again.
After no answer to his prayer and a brief search, this 7-year-old mind came to an important conclusion. He went to his 10-year old brother Tyler and said, “Why don’t you try it?” referring to praying. He continued, “Tyler, the Holy Ghost isn’t with me. I am not eight yet.” Young Tanner understood for this search he needed the power of the Spirit of God.
Nephi made this bold declaration, “And I said unto them: If God had commanded me to do all things I could do them. If he should command me that I should say unto this water, be thou earth, it should be earth; and if I should say it, it would be done. And now, if the Lord has such great power, and has wrought so many miracles among the children of men, how is it that he cannot instruct me, that I should build a ship?” (1 Nephi 17:50-51). One of the reasons Nephi knows he can speak these powerful words is because “in the strength of the Lord” anything righteous is possible.
