Tasted of His Love
May 30, 2018
I recently sat through another missionary departure sacrament meeting. This meeting was powerful.
The young man was candid and straightforward. He was honest about his struggles with depression and anxiety.
He was filled with desire, hope, and love. He was prepared to serve, but he knew it would be difficult.
I was overcome by the spirit when I heard him testify of sacred truths.
He is not a member of my family or even a close friend.
I have met this young man one time in the new ward I am in. The experience hearing him and feeling of his spirit changed me that day.
I felt something precious, something wonderful, something powerful. I believe that during that remarkable talk I again tasted of God’s love.
God’s love for this young missionary, God’s love for me, and God’s love through the tangible spirit that was present.
King Benjamin used this phrase, “And again I say unto you as I have said before, that as ye have come to the knowledge of the glory of God, or if ye have known of his goodness and have tasted of his love…” (Mosiah 4:11).
I know during that sacrament meeting, I tasted something not of this world, something eternal.
I have been grateful for the hundreds of times when I have tasted and felt of this love.
There is no better experience in the world than feeling the presence and love of God.
I am grateful that he showers us with His love during sacred experiences and treasured times.
