Testament of love

Amulek, who had fallen away from the truth for a time, reminded us of God’s intentions in our lives when he said: “I did harden my heart, for I was called many times and I would not hear” (Alma 10:6). Amulek reminds us of the many evidences God sent his way, but due to a hardened heart, he did not recognize them.

The Holy Ghost constantly and incessantly speaks evidences to the hearts of the faithful. The spirit of God is a powerful evidence of the love of God. The most important assurance we need in our lives is to know that God loves us and that He is our Father. He sends His spirit to testify of His love and to help us to feel His love. In an act of love, God sends His spirit to testify, to warn, to teach, to sustain, to support, to rescue, to heal, to guide, to lift, and to comfort.

Jarom, in the Book of Mormon, is not often quoted, but his insight on communion with the spirit is powerful, as he said: “And there are many among us who have many revelations, for they are not all stiffnecked. And as many as are not stiffnecked and have faith, have communion with the Holy Spirit, which maketh manifest unto the children of men, according to their faith” (Jarom 1:4). God has promised He will commune through His spirit to those who have faith in Him.
