Thank You.

One Saturday night, I was sitting on the couch preparing a priesthood lesson. My wife asked for my pen and I gave it to her. My then four-year-old, Tanner, said, “Dad, do you need a pen?” I said, “Sure.”
He ran and got me a pen. I went back to my lesson, and he went back to watching his video. After a few minutes, Tanner’s mind left the video. He looked over at me and said, “What do you say, Dad?” I said, “Not much.” He said, “No, Dad, what do you say for the pen?” “Oh, Thank You!” I said. He then, very cheerfully, said: “You’re welcome.”
Even a four-year-old can teach powerful lessons regarding gratitude. He was right to give me that little wake-up call to remind me that I need to say thank you, even for the seemingly small things.
